Lonely Planet’s Top 10 Regions to discover

Best In Travel

Well there is a lovely surprise! Although, us locals know it already, Lonely Planet has rated South Australia as one of the Top  10 Regions to discover in their 2017 edition.

Chole Cann Writes:

Long rebuffed in favour of its scene-stealing east coast cousins New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, South Australia is finally being recognised as the small state with big appeal. From the bush to the beach with the Barossa chucked in for good measure, this underrated destination neatly wraps all the quintessential Aussie experiences you could dream up into one.

We might be slightly biased, however the beautiful drive along the Coorong to the Limestone coast is a fabulous way to spend a day. With Robe as your destination, you are within and hour of most locations in the South East to discover the area. Some of the sights that you shouldn’t miss are

  • Historia Penola
  • Coonawarra Wine Region
  • The Blue Lake
  • Naracoorte Caves
  • The Obelisk
  • Bool Lagoon
  • Glenelg River and Nelson

These are just a few of the amazing places to visit, and there are many many more. We look forward to hosting you at Villa Malmo.
